Connecticut Voter Registration Information for Military & Overseas Voters

Register to vote
Uniformed Service members (and dependents) who are active duty (or absent) or who have been discharged within the last year who return to Connecticut after the registration deadline may still register to vote no later than 5:00 PM on the last weekday before the election. All other citizens may register up until 7 days before the election.

Apply for an absentee ballot
Ballots will be mailed as early as 90 days before the election for those servicemen who are absent from home due to a military contingency.

Return your ballot
Voted ballots must be received by the local election office before the close of polls on Election Day.
Note: FVAP-recommended mailing dates for voted ballots in 2012:
From Iraq, Afghanistan, deployed naval vessels: 4 weeks before the election.
From other overseas military installations: 3 weeks before the election.
From other overseas locations: 4 weeks before the election (depending on foreign mail service).
From within the United States: 1 week before the election.
